Jake Mossman began playing the guitar and composing at the age of twelve. He played in both R&B and Rock bands and drew inspiration from a wide variety of music before focusing on Classical and Flamenco guitar. After completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Guitar Performance from the University of New Mexico in 1997, he studied Flamenco with famed Flamenco guitarists Adam del Monte, Pedro Cortez, Chuscales, Rafael Riqueni, El Entri and Pedro Cuadra. He accompanied such dancers and singers as Paco Antonio, Lucilene DeGeus, Maria Benitez, El Yiyi and Eva Encinas-Sandoval. Jake also lived in Spain, studying Flamenco with singers, dancers and guitarists in Madrid, Jerez and Sevilla. In addition he has performed in theatres throughout theSouthwestern United States. In Los Angeles he has performed at the Ivar Theater, Alegria, Cave Sevilla and The Warner Grand Theater, to name a few. His new CD, Hefesto is a compilation of original Flamenco compositions, some of which feature the voice of Flamenco singer, Fernando de Malaga. Jake currently lives in Las Cruces, and teaches guitar privately.
