Classical Guitar
The word “Classical” tends to sound stuffy, but in fact, Classical Guitar is a living, breathing art form, which continues to grow and evolve. The trick with Classical Guitar is in bringing something to life, so that it feels as though it were written yesterday. It’s amazing what beauty lies hidden within the pages of this noble craft. As a lifelong student of music, I am constantly humbled by the volume of the Classical Guitar repertoire. When I say Classical Guitar, I’m actually referring to all periods of time in which music has been composed for this instrument, from the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical and 20th Century, and not confined to the European continent. Some of the greatest “Classical Guitar” music is actually not “Classical” whatsoever, but we’re stuck with this name. It’s kind of like calling a soda pop a Coke. With that said, there’s nothing quite as refreshing and thirst quenching as the Classical Guitar… wouldn’t you say so?
